FAQ

What permissions does DriveLens need, and why?
For live offer scoring (Pro only), DriveLens uses Android's screen capture ("screen sharing") permission together with Android's Accessibility Service permission to read publicly visible ride offer details off your own screen using on-device OCR. Accessibility Service only lets DriveLens read on-screen text like fare, distance, and time; it can't see passwords and can't interact with or control other apps. DriveLens also uses location access for mileage tracking while a shift is active, which every tier relies on. All of this is processed and stored locally on your device.
Which platforms are supported?
DriveLens currently supports Uber and Lyft. iOS is coming soon.
What data is stored, and where?
Most of what DriveLens does (offer scoring, OCR, GPS traces, your heatmap) happens entirely on your device and never leaves it. If you create an account, a broader set of driving data can sync to our servers so it's available across devices. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of what syncs and what doesn't.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free covers everything you need to log and understand your driving: shift tracking, GPS mileage, shift history, and basic analytics (totals, average $/mi, average $/hr).

Pro adds:

  • Live offer scoring: the on-screen overlay while you drive
  • Custom scoring rules ($/hr, $/mi, and payout thresholds)
  • Unlimited offer history
  • Advanced analytics: acceptance rate by grade, estimate-vs-actual earnings accuracy, extended battery trends, deeper per-shift averages
  • Pickup heatmap, dropoff intelligence, and heatmap filters

DriveLens Pro isn't available for purchase yet. Every account is currently on the Free tier; this is the feature set to expect once subscriptions launch.
